Within this project I decided to gain experiance in the processes involved in vulnerability management within a network, inclduing both carrying out a vulneability scan and assessment, and following this with mitigation of the vulnerabilities found, through the use of patching. In particular, this projected looked at exploring vulnerability scans and assessments through tools such as OpenVAS, and Nessus, and then using the results of theres to carry out mitigating action, through manual patching.
The project also looked at exploring the options available to automate the process of patching. In particular, I explored the demonstration version of Tanium, how that allows for effecive patch management for software and differen opeating systems, as well as more specialised software, such as Jamf for Apple.

Vulnerability Assessment:

• Installed and set up the Vulnerability assessment tools
• Carried out an assessment of devices on the network
• Read report and use results to identify key threats and plan on how to solve them
