This project looks at building and developing a linux based network of Virtual Machines, allowing me to simulate managing a functioning network. Furthermore, through developing this in a linux based network, this requires me to impliment each element of the network functionality, such as DHCP and DNS, furthering my experaince and understanding of these mechanism, particularly in the case of misconfigurations and problem solving. As such, this particular project looks to build the most on my skills, allowing me to implement elements of other projects to further the functionality of the network.

Current progress:

• Created a Rasberian based server within a Virtual Machine, and created user profiles.
• Implemented DHCP, DNS and FTP within the Rasbarian Server.
• Connected multiple Client Virtual Machines to connect through a switch on GSN3.
• Implemented a Domain Controller on the server using Samba, including various users on the domain.

Planned next steps:

• Implement a IDS/IPS
• Collect and monitor data through a SIEM
